How long are the classes?
All classes are an hour in duration.

Do I have to book?
No. Just turn up at any of our centres and enjoy the class.

Who can train in Taeko?
Taeko is easy, there is no complicated choreography and everyone can enjoy the work out regardless of age, gender or fitness level. Classes are flexible and you don't have to book, just turn up.

What should I wear?
Wear comfortable work out gear, sports shoes and you may want to bring a towel. There are showers and change room facilities at all centres.

What is the difference between Taeko and Kickbox?
Basically the kicking and punching techniques in both the programs are the same. In Kickbox you get all the benefits of Taeko, you get to work your technique plus you get to work out on various punching bags.

What is the difference between Kickbox and Shinbudo?
Kickbox is focused on kicking and punching only. It is a great all round cardio and strength work out. Shinbudo is the complete self-defence program. It focuses on all aspects of Martial Arts and fighting. In Shinbudo as well as kicking and punching, there is also throwing, ground fighting and sparring. The best and fastest way to learn how to defend yourself is to learn really good basic hard kicking and punching which is covered in the Kickbox class, combined with Ju Jitsu/Judo and ground fighting which is covered in the Shinbudo class. Both the Kickbox and Shinbudo programs teach basic effective, simple to learn fighting technique. At the same time, in order to really walk with confidence you need to get fit, flexible and centred. Fight Club does all of that plus more.

Who are the Fight Club Trainers?
Your experienced and friendly Fight Club trainers are qualified in all aspects of martial arts and fitness. All are registered Black Belts in at least one martial art, and all have had extensive international competition experience. All have passed the famous "Fight Club Black Belt Program."

Is there a Membership fee for Fight Club?
There is no membership for Taeko or Kickbox but there is a $40 membership for Shinbudo and Mighty Mites. If you are training at Balmain or North Sydney PCYC, there is a PCYC membership of $20 per year.

Can both men and women train at Fight Club?
Absolutely, both men and women can enjoy all the Fight Club programs.

Do you take beginners?
Yes, beginners of all fitness levels are always welcome anytime.

Can I use my class pass and membership at other Fight Club Centres?
Yes.

What do I wear and do I need gloves?
Kickbox and Taeko wear casual work out gear; shorts T-shirt, sports shoes. You can borrow light hand gloves from your trainer. Shinbudo, we recommend that you wear a martial arts uniform which can be purchased from your Fight Club trainer.

What will I learn in Shinbudo class?
From the first lesson you will learn basic self-defense that can be used immediately.

You will learn how to
• Fight effectively using punching and kicking
• Control your attacker immediately by avoiding his strikes
• Deliver powerful kicks and punches of your own.
• Throw your opponent to the ground.
• Easily control your attacker using a series of holds locks and chokes.
• Meditation and relaxation.

Each class involves

• Cardiovascular fitness.

Can I join Shinbudo any time?
Classes are on going and new enrollments are always accepted. Classes are designed to cater for beginners and experienced Martial artists. Both group and private tuition is available.

Is Shinbudo good for kids?
We run a great program for children called

What is World Shinbudo Organisation?
It is a non political organisation open to all Martial Arts clubs world wide. The World Shinbudo Organisation is affiliated to the Daito Ryu Aiki Ju Jutsu Honbu in Japan, the Japanese Ju Jitsu Association, the Japanese Submission Arts Wrestling Association and is the governing body in Australia for the International Sports Ju Jitsu Association. Australian Teams are regularly selected to compete in Japan and World Sports Ju Jitsu Championships.
